Hi backers,
Happy Easter Everyone. I hope everyone is enjoying your Easter holiday. While most of you are busy Egg-Hunting, our team is busy with "Bugs"-Hunting :) Here is an update status of our progress.
Development
We are in the FEP (Final Engineering Pilot) stage. This means the tooling is very much completed and we are just making final adjustment for Pilot Production. The firmware is completed but still has some bugs that needs to be fixed. The App is about 75% complete and we are busy discovering bugs and fixing them. We are also finding ways to improve the App usability.
Beta Test
In order to receive more feedback, we have contacted 20 early backers to be our BETA testers. These samples will be sent out within the next two weeks. We hope that we can get a wider audience to help test BEDDI in different environment, and to provide feedback so that the final BEDDI you will receive will be perfect :)
Certifications
We have finally got an "OK" signal for FCC and are submitting paper works such as logos, instruction manuals for actual approval. We had to submit 3 rounds of samples to get it approved!! For CE, we are still failing on some "static-electricity" test, but our engineers are already working on a fix. We have submitted our samples to Nest thermostat for approval as well, and they got back to us with a long list of "to-do" that our App team is working on right now.
As you can see, many things are going on and we are overcoming new obstacles every day. Currently, the plan is still to have mass production in May. Shipments leaving China in June, and you will receive them June/July depending on logistics.

Surveys
We will send out a backerkit survey soon. You will receive an email that look like the following picture. Please help to enter your BEDDI color choice, your wall plug info, and reconfirm your shipping address and telephone number. This survey should take only 1 minute or so, and you can always go back to change your color choice or address. This survey is much more flexible than Indiegogo survey system. So thank you for taking your time to do this.

Hi everyone
We hope everyone is having a wonderful 2016 thus far.
CES
We went to CES and met up with other startup entrepreneurs, and potential distributors. We demoed our products and received great feedback on the progress we made thus far; and more importantly, constructive feedback on how to make BEDDI even better. So we are working hard on implementing these improvements.
Tooling Update
We just received the tooling first shot update from factory. First shot refers to the first few sets of plastics that are made by the tooling. While they are not perfect yet (which is why they are called first shot), they are pretty close to what we want and we were able to assembled the parts into a BEDDI (see below pictures). So we are very glad that we are on schedule with the tooling!
What's next
A lot still have to happen before we ship BEDDI to you. For the next several months, we will do
1) Engineering Pilot -- these are for engineers to fine tune all the hardware/software parts. We expect this to take 6 to 8 weeks
2) Lab certifications -- We will submit beddi to outside lab for certifications (Bluetooth, FCC, CE, etc). This should be 2 weeks or so.
3) Pilot Production -- We will make a trial run of 200pcs in production line to see whether everything meets expectations. We expect to do 2 pilot production. This should happen in April
4) Mass Production -- We will mass produce the BEDDI for all backers. This should happen in May/June
5) Shipment and logistics -- June will all be about logistics. Shipping the goods to backers!
The above is the plan thus far, while we are still on track, I am sure many unexpected obstacles will come up and we will tackle them one by one and keep you all posted.
We will send out surveys in the next two weeks for you to choose your BEDDI color!
